In a Thursday post on Truth Social, former U.S. President Donald Trump shared updates on his recent diplomatic efforts, stating, "GREAT TALKS WITH RUSSIA AND UKRAINE YESTERDAY." He added that there is a "POSSIBILITY OF ENDING THAT HORRIBLE, VERY BLOODY WAR," referring to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. 

Trump's remarks followed a series of phone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which he described as productive and focused on achieving peace.

On Wednesday, Trump spoke at length with Putin, covering a wide range of topics. "I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

 According to Trump, both leaders expressed a shared desire to end the loss of lives among Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. They also agreed to initiate peace negotiations promptly, with the details to be handled by designated teams.

Following his conversation with Putin, Trump reached out to Ukrainian President Zelensky to brief him on the discussion. Zelensky later confirmed the exchange on Telegram, stating, "I had a meaningful conversation with [President Trump]. We long talked about opportunities to achieve peace, discussed our readiness to work together at the team level, and Ukraine’s technological capabilities—including drones and other advanced industries. I am grateful to President Trump for his interest in what we can accomplish together."

Trump echoed Zelensky's sentiments, writing, "I just spoke to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine. The conversation went very well. He, like President Putin, wants to make PEACE." The former U.S. president emphasized the positive tone of the discussions and the mutual interest in ending the conflict.

On Thursday, Trump revisited the topic in another Truth Social post, summarizing the previous day's developments: "GREAT TALKS WITH RUSSIA AND UKRAINE YESTERDAY. GOOD POSSIBILITY OF ENDING THAT HORRIBLE, VERY BLOODY WAR." His comments underscored the potential for a breakthrough in the protracted and devastating war, which has caused significant casualties and widespread destruction since its inception.
